In mid-July we visited London for the world’s largest aerospace trade shows for the aerospace industry, known as the Farnborough Airshow. This event, which takes place every other year in even numbered years at Farnborough airport gathers practically the entire aviation world – it covers both defence and commercial sectors. The trade fair was an opportunity to meet our partners – including L3 Wescam and Enersys.
On its stand L-3 Wescam has presented the most recent solution, which is a MX-8, a requested by the market small camera with huge potential. The camera weights only 6.8 kg, and is smaller than 11 „/ 279 mm. MX-8 has a 4-axis construction of the mobile part of the head. It consists of a thermal camera, color daylight TV camera and lowlight camera. The device contains an eye-safe laser rangefinder and laser illuminator. The camera features a variety of advanced imaging capabilities. The new solution is designed for mounting on light manned airborne platforms, law enforcement aircrafts, small tactical unmanned aerial vehicles and other light platforms.

During the trade fair, we were pleased to meet representatives of Enersys, company, whose presence was associated with the promotion of nickel-cadmium batteries designed for civil planes, fighter aircrafts and combat helicopters. The use of batteries of this type in aviation is mainly related to their higher mechanical strength and reliability. During our stay at the trade fair we were able to see many worldwide novelties, which celebrated their premiere at the Airshow. It was only a rainstorm accompanying this year’s event, that hindered free movement of the visitors on the large area of Farnborough airport.
